Which bank is better – Washington Mutual or Bank of America, for using ATMs in Europe?
I know the fees have gone up each year for using the ATMs … who would advise regarding the above for general purposes, and then if anyone has experience or knowledge with currency coverting brokerage type firms, I’m not sure of terminology, but I could use some advice, say for converting small amounts from us currency in US bank to EU currency … thank you
JP Morgan Chase bought WaMu a few weeks ago. So you might want to check to see when you can you can use your WaMu card at Chase ATMs.
Also find out how many Chase ATMs are in Europe. WaMu is part of the Star system, so you can use any ATM with the Star symbol like the one on the back of your card.
you will probably need to pay a fee for any atm withdrawals in europe. I was in Asia last year and used my Schwab ATM card because they refunded all foreign ATM fees.
