How do I negotiate to pay off a credit card with Bank of America?
I had a BOA visa that i got behind on payments and with penalties and interst went from $13k to $21k. I spoke to them and they worked out a payment plan of $380 per month but the interst is so high after over 2 years of making all payments I still owe $20K?
What can I do will they take a settlement or stop charging this crazy interest I am near bankruptcy.
Look into credit counselors. I went through one and they combined all of my credit cards and you make one payment to them. They make he payments to the credit cards and they negotiate with them to lower or eliminate the interest. There are different plans that you can do. Some affect your credit and some don’t. It is defiantly worth it, especially if you are about to claim bankruptcy. Good luck!!! I hope it works out in the end.
Also if you want to try to negotiate with them directly, if you can get a loan from somewhere sometimes they would agree to lower the balance if you can make a large lump sum payment.
