My daughter applied for FASFA and was turn down?

my daughter is in her second year at UCLA each year she applied for fasfa she got some help, I also had to cosign for her student loan at Bank of America to pay her Tuitsion and housing now she reapplied and was turndown because I ( her father ) made more money last year , the problem is i worked alot of overtime just to make living possile and keep my haed above water and to take care of my 2 kids and now, it seems we got SCREWED ! is there anything we can do to get student aid ?

She has to be living independently in order to qualify for the aid on her own…otherwise they include your income in what she is qualified for. It is the same for any children living with their parents…they include the home they own, etc. If she is living on her own, then they won’t consider what you make….it will all be figured differently…but she can get advice at the counselor’s office at the school. They will tell her what she needs to do.
