credit card with bad or limited credit?
i have applied for four and keep getting denied; i desperately need a credit card and i was just wondering if there are any that are easier to get then others
Before I improved my credit I was able to get one through HSBC/Orchard Bank. The interest rate is high but if you have bad or limited credit that should be expected. Once your credit has improved you should ask for a lower interest rate. Cards that are secured require something from you such as a deposit and are usually easier to get because they are risking less. You didn’t say why you need one right now but I would advise you to be cautious and be sure a credit card is the right decision if you have bad credit. I am not judging (just trying to make you more aware) but even people who are good with money easily over do it sometimes when they have a credit card so if you are not so good with money a credit card make make your situation worse. Another important thing you should know is everytime you apply for a card companies will generally pull your credit report. Each time they do it will have a small impact on your credit score (approx. -5 to 10 pts). If you have not you should review your credit report. About 6 yrs ago I had TERRIBLE credit. I pulled my credit (pulling your own credit DOES NOT hurt your score) and found many mistakes. I use truecredit. It’s 14.95 a month to monitor all 3 reports with scores (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian). There are many services out there to chose from. Over the last few years I have paid off all the debt and have been current on all my accounts. I also got all of the mistakes corrected and my score is now in the mid 700′s (was low 500′s when I started). Things like paying all accounts on time and reducing balances will go a long way in improving credit. Hope this helps.
