Tax deductions? EFile?
My buddy apparently went to H&R Block and because he saves a lot of his money, he was able to get more money back? Is this true?
I use eFile.com and maybe someone can recommend a better place to go to file my taxes. I do not spend a lot of money (my money mostly goes into my savings, my 401(k), and my HSA = health savings account). Thanks!
The only way you could possible get more money back by saving is if the money is going into a retirement account and he qualifies for a retirement credit. I am not sure what is going on with his taxes.
If you are not sure that you are doing your taxes right, you should go to a professional. Turbo tax will give you the same results as any other online software program. Only someone with training and knowledge can let you know if you are missing something or doing something wrong. You can go to a national chain like Jackson Hewitt or H&R Block or you can find a local tax preparation service. Your state’s Department of revenue may be able to help you.
