Has anyone had experience w/ ING DIRECT ( the Orange savings account)?
It yields high but it’s in cyberspace. How safe is it?
Ing is a great place for saving money. You can get an ING bank card that works in all debit/interac places like any other bank, and you can access your account through bank machines, but the best way is online account management. Not sure of the fees with card use, I elected not to have card, transfer cash from regular account, out of sight out of mind kind of thing, but getting it transferred back if needed is 1-3 business days, and no fees. ING is CDIC insured like any bank, loans and mortgages are available online, and there is two actual branch offices, one in Toronto, and one in Vancouver I believe.
