savings account education expenses
What I should do with my son who has refused to find a job?

He just finished his university with accounting major. But, he is disappointed that he has not been able to get into the Big 4 public accounting firms to get his CPA, although his marks were good. He has refused to work for smaller public accounting firms. Instead, for many months, he watches TV until early mornings, and wakes up after noon daily.

In my view, he is ruining his career and emotional well being by doing nothing, and I have suggested to him to get any job to get work experience, but he has ignored me.

Effective last month, I stopped paying his personal bills (cell phone, credit card, etc.), and he is now living on his own savings from his past summer jobs while I paid for all his living and education expenses during his university years.

What else I can do to make him finding a job?

Tell him that some times you have to start at the bottom to prove yourself and then you go to the top. Tell him that you get up and go to work and you give him 3 days to find a job or to move out of your home and see how longs his saving will last him. No if and or buts. DO NOT PAY ANY OF HIS BILLS. He is a CPA and,he knows what will happen to his credit and then he will have to live in a dump where the landlord’s become wealthy. Pack his things if he does not listen and go take out court papers. I know this sounds harsh. When he does go to work and sees the real life and the big picture his anger will go away. One day he will thank you for not letting him sit on his rear and wasting a good education.
