I have a banking question about a savings account?
if my moms second husband set up a savings account for me about 10 years ago, with it under my name, but him being the custodian, does he have full control over when i get the money? we have a good relationship so its not like he wont give me the money, but will it automatically be in my control when i turn 18? or does he have to like sign it over?
The bank will expect him to sign it over.
While you can ask, the bank typically won’t just hand you the money when you reach the legal age in your state (this can be higher than 18).
