I have a credit score of 489?
My ex.wife completely ruined my credit I have contacted retailers to deliver monthly payments pay the debt. I tried to apply for a secured credit with Bank of America and the garden bench and was rejected. Is it difficult for a store card Retailers better option to try to improve my credit score, while I continue to pay the debts left by my ex wife? With a credit score of 489 would any store card would be willing to give credit? thanks
Credit standards have tightened considerably due to the conditions economic. I can not offhand think of any place that will give you credit, groceries, gasoline or other with a low FICO. The fact that you can not get a secured card, more or less confirms it. My advice to you would continue to pay those debts. After a couple of years of payments on time, defect or delay payments, your credit should improve to the point where someone is willing to risk you. I'm sorry, is a terrible position to be, but will take time. You should also keep in mind that whenever you apply for credit, that can potentially harm the FICO for a maximum of 5 points (you can pull hard that and pull hard it is increasingly seeking a loan, whether approved or not.)
